ACEP Summer Internship Program 2026

Now in its eighth year, the ACEP Summer Internship Program selected 12 interns to work on a range of energy research projects across Alaska. Each intern is mentored by a researcher from the Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) to focus on an Alaska-based energy project.

The cohort consists of three internship strands — NSF REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates), AUSI (ACEP Undergraduate Summer Internship), and Utility Research Partnerships.

Students begin the summer with an orientation in ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº and Anchorage and have engaged discussions around the resources, technologies, people and operations that power Alaska’s diverse energy systems. At the end of the 10-week internship program, interns gave final presentations which can be viewed on the .
