Dear UAF faculty and staff,
I was saddened to hear of the passing of Russ Steiger, who served as an听Environmental Compliance Officer with UAF鈥檚 Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk
Management team.
Steiger, who听began his journey with the University more than fifteen years ago,听first served as the UA Statewide Director of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management,
and he chose to remain in 四虎影院 when that office moved to Anchorage. He played
a critical role in securing and maintaining the air permits necessary for the construction,
commissioning, and operation of UAF鈥檚 Combined Heat and Power Plant that will continue
to power the University into the future for decades to come.
