Introduction to TREND Phase 0: Financial Support for SBIR Applications

Every year, the Technology Research Education & Development Center of Alaska (TREND)
offers the TREND Phase 0 competition that allows participants to submit a preliminary
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I proposal and a request for assistance
outlining how they could utilize up to $5,000 in award amount to enhance the proposal鈥檚
                           development.

Learn more about this program during our webinar as we introduce the TREND Phase 0
                           and answer your questions.

The TREND Phase 0 competition, operated by TREND, is an optional and auxiliary phase
designed to give Phase I and Phase II proposals a greater success rate by providing
expert reviews and financial support. It is not an official phase of the SBIR or Small
Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs and is not a required step; however,
SBIR and STTR proposals submitted under the TREND Phase 0 program have a 30% award
rate, while the national average is just 15%.
