From Classroom to Competition: CBSM Students Earn National Recognition

This spring, the ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº Student Investment Fund (SIF) class traveled to New York to attend the Global Asset Management Education (GAME) Forum, the largest student-run finance conference. The group went head-to-head with over 80 other schools, demonstrating their investment management and communication acumen in a portfolio competition.

Turning Challenges into Solutions: A Look Inside the 2026 Arctic Innovation Competition

Innovation often begins with simply noticing a persistent problem. It might be the staggering cost of heating a home through a long winter, the difficulty of accessing clean water, or just the need to make everyday work a little more efficient. For the nearly 100 people who submitted ideas to the Arctic Innovation Competition in 2026, those obstacles sparked big solutions.

Each year, the UAF College of Business and Security Management honors a local leader who not only drives meaningful progress but also inspires those around them. In 2026, that leader is Meg Nordale, from GHEMM Company.

Recognizing Excellence: Honors Society Induction at CBSM

Excellence, leadership, and dedication took center stage in May as CBSM celebrated the induction of exceptional students into two prestigious honor societies: Beta Gamma Sigma and Order of the Sword and Shield. Family, friends, faculty, and staff gathered both in person and virtually to honor the hard work that led to this milestone.
