The Tanana District is one of the largest Cooperative Extension Service districts in the United States, covering an area of more than 120,000 square miles. The population is approximately 100,000 and includes the ËÄ»¢Ó°Ôº North Star Borough and 64 villages with a mostly Alaska Native population. Much of the district is inaccessible by road. The main economic drivers are mining, tourism, the University of Alaska, and the military.

The district offers outreach programs in agriculture and horticulture; health, home and family development; integrated pest management; nutrition; and 4-H and youth development.

Georgeson Botanical Garden Pavilion
Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 9am – 1pm

Cloverbud Camp is a day camp offering outdoor adventure for children ages 5-8. It provides the fun of camp with the security of evenings at home. The program runs July 13-15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Georgeson Botanical Garden, located on the UAF Troth Yeddha&/ces/districts/tanana/39; Campus.

Nature observations, crafts, games and educational adventures are designed to appeal to this age group&/ces/districts/tanana/39;s interests and attention span. FUN is the key ingredient! Staff will include the 4-H program coordinator, a certified adult leader, junior teen counselors ages 12 and up, and resource people from the community.

Camp begins at 9 a.m. each day and pick up is at 1 p.m. Campers should bring a jacket, rain boots and sack lunch. Snacks and beverages will be provided. There will be a potluck family picnic on the last day of camp.

Registration is open. Camp is limited to 25 day campers. All 4-H youth and non-4-H youth are welcome.
